Items of Discussion including some Old Business Issues:

CAC Reps need to use the new format for the meeting, it may be found on the website.  All reps should use the computer to type these up, email a copy to C/Maj Lebenns and 2nd Lt. Ridley and bring 2 hard copies with them to each meeting and one should be given to the recorder.

Suggestion, the Cadet Competition should be semi-annual, with more notice of the types of events being conducted.  All the cadets had a good time.

Suggestion for database:  Online photo gallery/database to help with recruiting

Pumpkin Fest-update - not as many cadets showed up, 5,000 people handled.

Suffolk county Farm-open invite to use land for model rocketry or ELT searches, contact Gordon Hubbard at 631-553-6031.

Cooley’s ran smoothly.

GSAR course update - as of now 21 cadets to attend according to Capt. Dan Rogers.

Group Color Guard competition,  location:TBA.  Possibly Gabreski’s home Armory.
Date: Jan 14/21???  Determine which date is best according to availability.
Need regulation judges.  Cadet Themann will investigate, mentioned the 106th NCO's or AF personell, tabled until the next meeting.

Recruiting ideas:
Kidsday articles
Gabreski Squadron is going to schools to talk at aerospace and science classes

Recruit at schools, radio stations, libraries, use chamber of commerce if possible.

PAO pamphlets

Activities to help recruiting and keep cadets involved: field trips to museums, rock climbing, etc
fun activities are better and more interesting to cadets.

All CAC reps need to know who is primary, secondary and observer reps for their squadron and everyone must be able to understand the use of Form 2A’s and fill them out when appropriate.  All CAC reps should have a 2A on record.

Squadrons should use the CAC website as a vehicle of communication.

Lt. Ridley mentioned some other ideas such as Land Navigation course which will be instructed by Hofstra University Army ROTC cadets and CAP senior members.  Possible CAC trip to the Cradle of Aviation, Group Rocketry Programs, Scholarships, websites and forms.

He also wants all CAC reps to set the example for their squadrons and be professional at all times.  Communication is very important, and he expects us to answer each others emails and phone mails quickly and respect one another.

Meeting Adjourned by C/CMSgt Themann, seconded by C/SMSgt Ridley.

End of Meeting.
